有時我地在Email內沒有save就直接edit個attachment. 辛辛苦苦edit完就save. 再開時, 發覺edit咗啲野唔見咗, 怎麼辦呢? 以下就是都網上找到的方法:-
"People often open email attachments directly.
Before editing an attachment you SHOULD save the attachment using Outlook's
'file' menu then 'Save Attachment' feature, or use the application's 'File'
then 'Save as' command.
But what people sometimes do is:
1. edit an attachment, then 'Save' then exit the application.
2. re-open the attachment and find that the edits are missing.
The edits are not lost but HIDDEN in Outlook's SECRET attachment folder.
This is how you find and recover lost edited Outlook attachments.
Locate Outlkook's Hidden Data Folder
1. open another email with an attachment.
2. double click on the attachment to open it with the apprriate application.
3. do a 'File' then 'Save As' command - see the 'Save As' dialog with the 'Save
in' line showing 'OLKxxxx' where xxxx = a short series of random numbers and
captital letters e.g. OLK123C.
4. drop the 'Save in' list - see a 'folder path' like this:
local disk(C:)\Documents and settings\(username)\Local Settings\Temporary
Internet Files\OLKxxxx
- the slashes have been added for clarity.
- xxxx = the short series of randon numbers and captial letters.
5. write down the name of the OLKxxxx folder.
6. click cancel.
Making Hidden Folders Visible
This will make some but not all hidden folders visible.
1. start Windows explorer.
2. click 'Tools' then 'Folder Options' option.
3. click on the 'View' tab.
4. scroll down a little.
5. under 'Hidden files and folders' ensure that 'Show Hidden files and folders'
is selected.
6. ensure that 'Hide extensions for known file types' is NOT selected.
7. ensure that 'Hide protected operating system files (recommended) is NOT
selected.
8. click OK
Opening the hidden folder
1. in Windows Explorer, click 'View' then 'Toolbars' and ensure that there is a
tick next to 'Address Bar'.
2. use Windows Explorer to navigate to:
local disk(C:)\Documents and settings\(username)\Local Settings\Temporary
Internet Files
- see a list of cookie files.
3. click into the address bar of Windows Explorer (at the end of the address.
4. type in: \OLKxxxx (translating the xxxx into the actual numbers and letters).
5. press Enter - see the folder containing the attachment.
6. copy the file to somewhere safe.
